Our Team

Our owner, Eric Parsons, has personal experience in recovery and understands the challenges of early recovery from substance abuse and addictive behaviors. There is no judgment about progress, there is only support. Eric, as well as our house manager, have shared similar paths as the men at Discovery Sober Living. Our team understands their struggles and their triumphs.

Living Sober Austin
Eric Parsons

Eric ended his struggle with alcoholism on February 20th, 2012 after decades of turmoil that comes along with addiction, including multiple treatment center stays, detoxes, jail stints, and periods of homelessness. He had alienated his family and loved-ones; he was tired and broken. He finally accepted that “his way wasn’t working”, and embraced recovery through the 12-steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.  Eric’s road to recovery was long and tough; he understands everyone has their own journey. Through membership at Discovery Sober Living, Eric’s goal is to provide men in recovery from addiction a supportive environment in which to grow and establish meaningful personal connections, life-skills, and a foundation for clean living.
